Condi is Pathetic on MTP: "Tim, I am not a lawyer."
Edited on Sun Dec-18-05 10:54 AM by Stephanie

Wow, is this the best they can do? My paraphrase:

Russert: Was the president operating outside the law?

Condi: Tim, the president was acting under Constitutional authority, under statutory authority, he was within legal bounds.

Russert: You keep saying that but precisely what law are you talking about?

Condi: Tim, I am not a lawyer.

3. She's such a pathetic liar. I'd have expected her to be ...
... a more accomplished liar by now, given the amount of experience she has.

I wonder what she'll be doing in five or ten years?

20. You can telling Condi is lying ...

She stammers whenever she lies. She's not pathological like the President. He actually believes his own bullshit. Condi is clearly uncomfortable with the lying she is doing and it trips her up every time to do these cartwheels of logic and reason to defend her chimp boss.

7. Spying is all good now
but when intelligence was telling them not to go to Iraq and warning her about Bin Laden determined to strike the US, she had no interest.
The Clinton administration tried to clue them in, but now spying on joe six pack is the answer.
:silly:

I was screaming at the TV,

"Yes, you are the lapse in intelligence you bitch!!! You people IGNORED excellent intelligence on the forthecoming 9/11 attacks. THAN you ignored intelligence contrary to your agenda leading up to the Iraq war. You're the fucking problem, not the Constitution!!!!"

31. They didn't ignore it. They acted accordingly. They got out of town.
And went into hiding in Crawford Texas. Well, Cheney was in Wyoming.

And they didn't ignore Iraq intelligence. They deliberately hid what did not suit them.

8. I could not stand to watch her. CBS with graham and Biden was superb
Graham was on fire. "Either we are a country of laws or we are not. We cannot afford result base actions. Either we follow the law and the process or our country is at risk."

Biden also confirmed that he was not told of any of the president's actions.

Poor condi. She has never dealt with a press that is alive, energized, and aware of her lies.
Hold on. Strike the word "poor" and replace it with "You silly, putrid, piece of whale shit,"

Seems ALL the Bushies can 'splain things so well when they're screwin' ya. Ask for an accounting, though, and they try to weasel right out of it. Impeachment / Resignation would put a stop to this nasty unAmerican behavior on their part.

25. That wasn't the point ...

What the White House exceeds at is lying throug their teeth to a large audience than weasling out of it later with a small audience. They tell the big lie and get the general impression out for the rubes. Than when they're called on it, they'll adamantly state that they never lied and have said the correct thing from the beginning and role out the video footage to that effect.

You know the clip on Randi's show where he says "We have no intelligence that Saddam Hussein was involved with 9/11." That was a Fuax moment. It is held in reserve as a defense while all along they send everyone else out to create the false impression that Saddam WAS involved with 9/11.

They've actually topped Orwell and Machievelli on this one. And it DOES really on a press that is too lazy/complacent/bought off to follow up RIGHT AWAY with experts to contradict this.

16. Russert asked
"Will this go to the Supreme Court?"

Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhhh! :argh:

No, DUMBASS! The question is "Will the President be impeached for this?"

I HATE TIM RUSSERT! He couldn't even follow up a single question he asked her. She dodged and he moved on.

Why can't we have the "Pit-bull" Russert who hung on to Clinton's zipper like his very life depended on it? (Ans: Maybe because it did.)

26. Tim was just being fair ...

Tim knew that Clinton thrived in this environment. Clinton thrived on tough questions because he knew the issues back and forth. These people can't tell the issues from the whole in their ass. If he got too tough with them, they would never come back on his program.

19. If she's not a lawyer ...

If she wasn't a lawyer, she shouldn't have made a legal defense for her boss.

The correct response would have been "I'm told that the President has statuatory and constitutional authority".

Than Russert would have asked: "By Whom?". And then Condi would have named the White House Counsel who he could ask about what statute allows this.

Russ Feingold was EXCELLENT today. He came right out and said that the president had violated the FISA law and the 4th amendment. He was the only guy today who didn't come off as mush-mouth wishy washy.

I'm sold on Feingold for President in '08.

Whenever they are forced to really discuss the issues and they don't allow them just to repeat the "line" the more totally incompetent.
