2. But it still seems there are a lot of leaks.
Or, am I am just being naive by falling for the Karl Rove trap?

3. I think we give Rove too much credit
Certainly he's good at what he does; but his ideology has blinded him to how badly he and his boy have screwed things up. The old lies aren't doing the trick as well as they used to.

What we need are some new cliches.

4. We need to distinguish between 'leaks' and 'whistleblowing'.
When it serves the administration's purpose, it's a leak.

When it exposes an administration's crime, it's whistleblowing.

We cannot let them confuscate (did I just make that word up?) the two.

Bush complaining about leaks re: the NSA is in reality trying to shut down whistleblowing. If he was really worried about leaks, he'd come clean about Valerie Plame.

5. Leaks are being used by repukes to control the media
Rove and company have for years used the old leak ploy to lie and to launch unscrupulous attacks against political adversaries without having to admit that they themselves planted the information. In this way, the press' right to keep sources confidential has been grossly abused to achieve an end that is not intended when we defend this privelege. Some corrupt reporters go along, however, as they have found fame, fortune, and power by allowing themselves to be exploited in unethical relationships with the likes of Libby and Rove.

The whistleblower activities, in sharp contrast with devious leaks I have described above, are really an example of what freedom of the press is all about.

6. I agree
There has been a steady drip, drip, drip. I sense someone out there is toying with them, playing a little cat and mouse. They are clearly rattled by it.
