Edited on Tue Dec-20-05 11:21 AM by mopaul
it's obvious to all but the hypnotized or terminally ignorant, fascism has overtaken america from the top down, and the only way to get our country back is TO TAKE IT BACK, but alas, too few give a fuck to make it happen.

how badly do they want america and how badly do we want it back? how far are they willing to go? all the way that's how far, and until we actually make a single step toward stopping them, they'll fuck us and the world over like we never imaginined in our wildest nightmares.

at this time, today, we are NOT up to the task of taking back our nation from these pigs. the state of our union is not sound, and at this level of tryanny it cannot stand.

until the day that the majority of americans comes to the terrible realizations that we here have, expect more tyranny, war, and countless atrocities.

on the day that WE finally stand up, bush will stand down.

1. But what do you mean by
finally stand up? What are our options, other than the usual methods to influence politicians?

3. It seems there is momentum....
...and the wheels seem to be comming off the BushMobile. Every other week there is a new relvations of some major wrongdoing. But what is the mechanism by which we can re-take our country? Where does it go? What are the next steps?? Does anyone have the answers? I only hope we can remove these criminals from power before they lauch the next 9/11 - TAHT writing is on the wall as far as I'm concerned. Bush, Cheney, et al are the REAL "evil-doers". They should be removed from office and prosecuted - but HOW???

4. They won't impeach him unless we go back out in the street.
There has to be a threat of ungovernability, I think. And that means people will get hurt. You really have to know in a concrete way where this leads.

And, I agree with you.

5. we need a revolution, & it doesn't have to be a bloody one
mention the 'r' word and everyone, (not necessarily you) assumes you mean blood in the streets and the guillotine, but it can be quite peaceful, as history shows

7. True, it can be. But I'm not impressed with BushCo's
level of respect for human life and they will not sit down and watch it happen.

It's like the King marchers. They didn't set out to be hosed and beaten and nearly killed. But, they were. Any time you get a bunch of people near a bunch of armed law enforcement, the risks are present.

I think we can encourge the Congress to do their work by peacefully demonstrating at Federal buildings all over the country and especially, in D.C. But that also means, putting bodies in harms way. You really can't have one without risking the other.

8. Bubble Boy will just ignore massive protests
he called the world-size protests to his iraqnam move "focus groups." I don't see any crack in the general indifference. The USSR fell of its own bankruptcy. With a little help from the rest of the world (cashing out their US debt), the Empire could crumble in the same manner.

10. That's my guess too... A Soviet style disintegration.
Let's see what kind of dignity we can do it with.

Of course it would be fun to see George W. Bush doing the Jimmy Swaggart thing before they send him off to prison...

I do not plan in any way to whitewash my sin. I do not call it a mistake, a mendacity; I call it sin. I would much rather, if possible -- and in my estimation it would not be possible -- to make it worse than less than it actually is. I have no one but myself to blame. I do not lay the fault or the blame of the charge at anyone else's feet. For no one is to blame but Jimmy Swaggart. I take the responsibility. I take the blame. I take the fault.

Jimmy Swaggart, February 21, 1988, Family Worship Center, Baton Rouge, LA

9. I was thinking much the same thing this morning Paul
and I asked myself what can a fat, crippled, worn-out old fart like me do? Then the light bulb came on. WE can be the rabble-rousers. The crusty old bastards who speak up loudly and urge the youngsters to action. We can speak the truth to all and sundry. We can speak out against O'Reilly and his ilk while sitting in the tavern. Just gimme my tricorner hat and a flagon of ale..............

Woof

11. I'm losing faith in my fellow countrymen...
if there is any validity to the poll numbers this morning, all is lost, there is no return.

12. We need to redirect our energy.
I love DU'ers, but too many people on here seem to think that being aware of the issues is enough. People need to get involved with local politics and be prepared to do the hard work in real life. Be a precinct chair, volunteer time to a candidate, work for the Democratic party in your area, get out and do something in real life. THAT is the way to change our world and our future.
