Poll question: Elections in 2 weeks. What are you going to do about it?
Edited on Tue Oct-21-03 09:28 PM by Bleachers7
OK, so we have elections in two weeks everywhere. We are the real committed politicians in our communities. You don't hang out at DU without loving politics.

So like I said...elections in 2 weeks. What are you doing about it? We have everyone from fire commissioners to governors running for office. What are you doing to get democrats elected?

I am a Clark supporter. I am working on his campaign. I am also working for a wonderful local County Legislator (Nassau NY) David Denenberg. I am dropping literature and calling people. I am going to work my ass off for him and Clark for the next two weeks. I am working for Denenberg because I am proud to be a Democrat!!! This guy works his ass off for our community. He is smart, friendly and smart some more.

It is extremely rewarding working for a local Democrat. It is just two weeks but they need our help. So put down the keyboard a minute and help our guys. Go to their offices and ask them how you can help for two weeks. And if you live in a heavy Republican district even better. Go and drop literature in your hood. Make a presence. Make sure everyone knows that we are fighting hard and KICKIN ASS (as per DNC). So here is the poll question... What have I inspired you to do for the next two weeks?

:kick:

I love your posts, you are intelligent and concise, use appropriate humor and outrage (uh, don't go with that one - I wouldn't know appropriate if it bit me on the behind). What do you think you would run for? And where are you? I don't think Minnesota.

SoS,so I read below. Go for it.

10. Go for it!
According to D.C.'s Political Report and Politics1.com, we don't have a candidate against him yet.

"In several years, this group of young people may vote not only on touch screen machines, but over the Internet," said Reed. "We’re bringing the future to them."

This guy has to go...looks like a real electronic-voting machines freak.

Edited on Tue Oct-21-03 09:27 PM by God_bush_n_cheney
if so would you sign the petition? I need 1041 names so they waive the filing fee.

BTW my platform would be BBV issues. Bev Harris said "Go For it" said she would vote for me. Guess that is a good endorsement. I could prolly wrangle an endorsement from Jim McDermott.

32. I definitely think you should run
You have the capacity; you're an employer/small businessman who is sympathetic to small business and getting gov't off the backs of the people!! (might as well turn their arguments against them now!)Run as a centrist but stay radical! I know how you feel, if you don't there will only be some dweeb doing it....what district? Who's the competition? We could start now to screw 'em over from afar bwaaa haaa haaaa.........

We've got to get the SoS office back somehow, you could be the key.

Need a good candidate to take Locke's place as well so a Repuke doesn't move in.. might as well move to Canada, eh. Then my chances of finding an IT job will go from where they are now (nil) to impossible, don't even think about it. Oh I don't even want to think of that horror!

I'm seriously considering running

Almost ran for State Seante but deferred to another candidate to avoid primary battle AND one of the candidates financed his own campaign with MEGABUCKS out of his own pocket.

19. Our locals are doing pretty well this time around
We've put in some work for the Democratic candidate for town supervisor. We look to have a good shot at a Democrat for county supervisor this time. The Dem who's running is a very popular local politician who wins all his elections. He's incorruptable and very consituent friendly at the same time. People love him. He's a Dem, but very, very moderate. This is a moderate area. That actually makes me happy because it used to be a totally Republican controlled conservative area. Everything's relative.

34. I'm mad that my dem choice didn't win the runoff for Louisiana gov
Edited on Tue Oct-21-03 10:11 PM by Hippo_Tron
race. I don't particularly care for the democrat running and I would almost vote for the Republican who's running except for the fact that like most Republicans every other word out of his mouth is "I'm a good christain and I believe in family values". When you say stuff like that you can't expect me to take you serious as a "different" type of Republican. Anyway the Lt. Governor is getting my vote for Governor but I don't like her enough to enough to help her win in any other way. BTW in Louisiana a lot of elections are already over because we have an open election where there are no primaries just everybody runs in the initial election and then if nobody get's 50% there's a runoff. In New Orleans we had two Democrats in the runoff for mayor.

35. Working on Clark's Campaign...
I went yesterday to an organization meeting for the Clark Campaign...there were about 50 of us....and this was not a meet-up!

This was the retail organization meeting......and we are off to a great start!

We are tabling events all over the Bay Area (Farmer's Markets, etc...). Passed out 3,500 flyers at the Micheal Moore event at the Greek Theater, Berkeley.

Had many volunteers give blood last Saturday on "Volunteer Day".....

All in all, things are starting to move!
