Do you remember the coroner in Florida who offered a strange opinion
on the cause of death of Laurie Katsoulis (sp?), Joe Scarborough's aide?

Just saw at www.Buzzflash.com he's being fired. They linked this short article:

(snip) MEDICAL EXAMINER DISMISSED

Starting July first, the Okaloosa/Walton medical examiner will be out of the job he's held the last six years.

Dr. Michael Berkland has been dismissed by the Medical Examiner's Office in Pensacola.

The Florida Medical Examiner's Commission had complained of his failure to complete dozens of autopsy reports in 2001 and 2002, a violation of state statutes.

Berkland says he performed some 320 autopsies last year and had, in the past, asked for help from the Pensacola office to handle the workload. (snip/...)

Buzzflash says he was the one who "Came Up With Novel Theory to Explain Death of Young Female Staffer Inside of Joe Scarborough's Florida Office."

You remember he was forbidden to work in Missouri before he went to Florida.

1. Truth out from 2001 on his firing in Missouri.
http://www.truthout.org/docs_01/01.07B.Klausutis.3.p.htm

SNIP..."But, Berkland should not have been serving at anyone's pleasure. According to George and Wright, Berkland was fired as contract medical examiner in Jackson County, Missouri in 1996 for falsely stating that he had sectioned several brain specimens. As of November 1997, nine criminal cases were at risk of being overturned as a result of Berkland's falsified autopsy reports. In at least two cases, a reversal of judgment has been sought. In February of 1998, an injunction was issued against Berkland to prohibit him from performing further autopsies or working as a medical examiner. In March 1999, his Missouri license was revoked with no application for reinstatement for a period of six years. Berkland appealed and lost in November 1999. In the meantime, Berkland had applied to practice in Florida, apparently without advising the Florida authorities that he had lost his license in another state....."

MORE...."A Disappearing Act

Lori Klausutis' death was tragic. But, if one were to follow the trail her friends and family left, it's as though she simply never existed. Immediately after Lori's death, one could find abundant information about her on the internet, according to Chris George. Now, one can find almost nothing. The same with respect to Lori's husband, Timothy J. Klausutis. His personal website is gone. Only information about public seminars he co-chaired or papers he published can be found. A former weapons designer with classified clearance states that ten years ago the information contained in these publications would have been classified. Most of it relates to target recognition technology. In any case, it is an odd epitaph. Her husband designs ways in which a target can be acquired and recognized and she has become both a target and a person whose image we can no longer bring into focus......"

3. I was quoting the article, not my own knowledge.

Perhaps the George and Wright gave incorrect information or incorrectly used the word "fired". I simply do not know.

4. He WAS fired in Missouri.
...and his LICENSE was suspended. Those are two different things. Anyway, I don't think the "Good" Doctor will be reapplying in Missouri either: With all the vile sh*t he pulled there the court is very unlikely to welcome him back. The court findings against him were devastating, and it's still a mystery why Florida allowed him to practice at all.

He purposely falsified Lori Klausutis' autopsy to hide the truth about her brutal death. He was accused (by his former boss) of having done the same thing in Missouri. The man is incompetent, and he's a lying scumbag. Good riddence.
