18 Year Sentence because he MIGHT have killed Americans???
A Muslim from Portland, Oregon, tried to join the Taliban. He was unsuccessful - but he was sentenced to 18 years in prison because the judge says he would have killed Americans if he succeeded.

Given the success ration of Taliban fighters versus U.S. troops, he probably would have been more successful if he had joined the U.S. Army, then mutinied.

Maybe that's why he got such a stiff sentence - the U.S. military is pissed off because George Bush's phony war on terrorism is inspiring more recruits for the Taliban and Iraq Liberation Front than for the U.S. armed forces.

This bunch of two bit keystone wannabees or the authorities that prosecuted them.

A sad indictment on America, I'd say.

2. I would say this is a sign of our down fall. it has started.
So Franklin was right and we could not hold on to it. The people who wish to kill every thing that moves are in power. Can the US really put any more people in prison ? We have out done Russia and the Reds now.

5. I agree, izzie...IT HAS BEGUN
Where it will stop, no one can say.

But enjoy these days of Fading Twilight as if you were going to spend the 20 years after that in a Gulag or six feet under.

The way things are going, that is no longer out of the question.

Not at all.
