A couple years ago, I went through my collection of vintage 50's and 60's MADs with my son...it didn't take long for him to get hooked on them. It was incredible...comics that were 40 years old not only still were funny and relevant, but caught the fancy of a then 13-year old boy, just like it did his old man.

Since then we've picked up new editions and the humor in there is just as sharp and irreverant as ever...even under corporate ownership. A lot has to do that many of the same artist of those glory days of the 60's and 70's are still there...most notably Mort Drucker...his TV and movie parodies are still great.

My son has the issue and ran to show me that ad...he wanted to know if he could trade in his Power Ranger doll for one (if we could find it...he's 16 now).

Kudos to MAD for always making me believe there is sanity in insanity.
