12. John LaFalce is a Dem. He was chair of House Banking Committee
if memory serves.

Diebold does a lot of business with banks, which explain that particular bribe.

Glad to see that they were giving a lot of money to Faircloth whom John Edwards took out of action in '98.

5. We have no right to criticize Bush on who he takes money from
unless we also criticize Gephardt for taking money from the president of the group running the attack ad on Howard Dean that claims the Democratic front runner and likely nominee isn't as good as Bush on national defense and foreign policy.

7. I think these are 2 separate issues

As someone who was forced to use a Diebold machine in the 2002 elections in Georgia that ended in an Republican winning the governorship in an unexpected "upset", I couldn't possibly equate these two issues.

6. This list is sure to be incomplete.....
.....since many of the contributions are made by their wives. If you take some time to search by their addresses, last name only, company names, etc., you'll be amazed at how much money is donated by 'housewives' and 'homemakers'! They also have a tendency to spell their names several different ways i.e.; Walden O'Dell, Walden W. O'Dell, W. W. O'Dell, W. O'Dell, etc.

Go to http://www.opensecrets.org and click on the 'Who's Giving' link at the top of the page to play 'How many ways can you hide a donation?', it's great fun and very educational!

Here's a search for Diebold as employer! Have fun! :)

Hint for bonus points; See how many programmers you can find that donate $1000.00 a week! ;-)

11. Exit polling
From same article.

In addition to the paper trail, it seems the Repugs have eliminated the standard practice of exit polling as well. As you may recall, the exit polls had Gore winning by a comfortable margin in Florida when they were inexplicably shut down.

-------------------

The lack of any exit polling on November 5 has been oddly ignored by the media. Those pesky tracking polls leading up to the elections have been explained away by a ‘late surge to the Republicans’ caused by.... hmmmm, how about sun spot activity? With no exit polls, there was no other feedback to conflict with the "official" results,
this allowed the Diebold touch screen machines to change the way election fraud is carried out.

2nd article:
Why did VNS bow out the morning of the election?
