Randi Rhodes question on pipeline???
I just tuned into Randi Rhodes and she was discussing some pipeline being built by McGraw HIll Construction that hasn't supposedly been reported about yet? I wasn't clear on what this was about, as I only caught the tail end of the discussion with a caller who apparently tipped her off to it. She was saying that she researched it, found that it was true and even found pics on the net,

Was she talking about the pipeline they are building from Iraq to serve Israel?

What was she referring to? thx

1. Maybe the one between Iraq and Kuwait?
Satellite photos seem to show that a pipeline is being built between the two countries. Speculation is that it would allow Iraqi oil to be sold through Kuwait and revenues would not go to Iraq.

Or something like that.

3. My thought as well... are we sure she was talking about an oil pipeline?
Not an education pipeline (ala testing - constructing the texts, the tests, the test materials, the test prep materials, selling the scoring, etc. - quite a bit money racket there even if it isn't oil or natural gas.)

5. She may have been referring to this

A tactical fuel supply pipeline built by the Army and begun before the invasion.

McGraw Hill Construction is a publication that has reported a number of pipeline engineering and construction stories out of Iraq. There is, as far as I can tell, no construction company with that name.

One more thought: might the listener have confused McGraw Hill with McGaw Construction? McGaw is an Australian firm, I believe. If so, there's nothing on Google about McGaw being involved in Iraq.

6. thx
tbanks for the replies. I was hoping that there was another Rhodes listener who was on here who could fill me in.

I'm pretty certain she mentioned McGraw Hill Construction. She said there were pics of the pipeline. It must be the pipeline they have laid between Kuwait and Iraq, supposedly for the supply line, i guess.

Must not have been any other R Rhodes' listeners on DU today.

7. Randi's a repeat today
but I heard it the first time and that is what she said. My mind was reeling, though--I felt sure she was misstating the name of the company,(since McHraw Hill is indeed famous for publishing, not pipelines) but never did look into it.

It's a WTF from a randi listener...

8. I may be wrong, but I think she was talking about

the Afghan pipeline--it was a big argument with some wise ass that thought he had all the facts but he was woefully short on those. Randi had an answer to all his desperate objections ("I'm a liberal, I swear!" yeah, right...)but I think she got something wrong here like the name of the company. The guy was saying "There is no pipeline" and Randi was saying "Yes there was!" but I thought they were just talking about the "real reasons" we went to "war," (the endless one) and how they eventually wound up planning a trans-Afghan pipeline after saying they weren't and the Caspian Sea had nothing to do with it.
