for projects and programs HERE?? The senate and congress tap dance all around funding programs here and never quite get around to it, yet we inavde Iraq, and all of a sudden they are falling all over themselves to flood the place with OUR MONEY..

Granted, they do need help, but it seems to me that I heard a while back that their OIL would be funding the reconstruction.. If that's the case, why are Halliburton, Bechtel et al, not accepting IOU's from them for their services..

I have this sneaky feeling that they are going to "Double Dip" BIGTIME.. We are paying them huge amounts of TAX MONEY now, and later they will collect again from the unsuspecting Iraqis..:(

Worst of all, we will get the "trust us" excuse instead of a real accounting of where all that money went.. A war is a great excuse to spend a lot of money in a hurry, with little or no responsibility to account for it... You know.. "the fog of war"..:(:(

1. Because
The ultimate goal of the bush crime family is to so starve the treasury and create such severe deficits as far as the eye can see so that programs like social security, medicare, education, etc, can be cut. I am serious. As Newt the horses petewt said "so it can wither on the vine"

2. the tar baby of foreign involvement
It was clear that the repuke scum would do anything, really anything to attack iraq... and when such a desire arises against political expediency, the opponent uses it to wear down the stupid attached idiots... and now it is wearing them down... iraq is the end of the republican neocon movement...

I'm tempted to get a memorial engraved right now, and then take it to iraq to erect it... "here lies the neo-con criminal movement. It died here in 2004 for its greed and lust for empire." Then we can see the easternmost march of bushexander the less-great in its historical light.

fret not... iraq is Durin's bane.
