The Plame Game
A crime was committed by someone in bush's administration. We can whine and complain and say it will be swept under the rug or we can act. We can (right now) contact our congressional reps and let them know we want this issue marched through to completion. We can write LTTE to ensure it stays in the public eye. We can do whatever you in your creative DU mind come up with to ensure that justice is done. Or we can sit on our thumbs and wonder we have a pain in the ass.

DESPITE OUR DEFEATIST ATTITUDE THIS STORY IS STILL ALIVE MORE THAN FIVE MONTHS AFTER THE CRIME OCCURRED. MAYBE SOMEONE(S) HAS BEEN WRITING AND RAILING AND AGITATING. LET US KEEP IT ALIVE UNTIL SOMEONE IS CONVICTED. Its not like people in a republican administration never get convicted of crimes against the state.

Oh what a difference having a dog in the fight makes ...

A few days ago the Post's Mike Allen got Victoria "typical Washington talk" Toensing to let us in on the Plame perps' 'we didn't know she was covert' legal strategy. Well, it seems Victoria was a little more hard core on the leak front before her friends (or clients?) got their hands caught in the cookie jar.

Back on September 9th 2001 she penned a piece in Post called "They Call It a Leak. I Call It a Crime."

2. Show the GOP the same mercy they'd show
the Dems if such a thing happened within the Dems ranks.

3. Ditto
I may be pessimistic that the investigation will bear fruit, but that does not stop me from contacting my reps and the DoJ about this matter.

A real positive in this is that too many people inside the beltway know the identity of the criminal who exposed Plame. The administration cannot make a false fall guy walk the plank.

6. Not just Novak
At least 5 other journalists know who it was, and I believe that Joe Wilson was given some pretty strong hints by one of them.

It's going to be very difficult to come up with a different fall guy than the actual person that exposed the classified information.
