Drummers who helped me last night...here is what happened.

I bought the drums...
All the drums are slingerland except the snare which is WFL which I have been told is the precursor to Ludwig (Wilhelm F Ludwig, I looked it up)

I got everything pictured, even the cowbell, as well as a set of hi-hats and a crash (ride?) cymbal not pictured. Newer heads on everything except the snare, I just need to get a stand for the hi-hat. All this for $300, payable in installments ($150 left).






now I just have to learn how to play.

A word of advice when learning to play: Slow and Simple. Learn touch and learn to play quiet.

a metronome of some type might help too.

I dont have any illusions that I'll be a rock god any time soon (especially at 33), so I plan to focus on actually learning how to play. :)

A friend of mine picked up what is basically this kit (different finish) a couple of years ago, and I recently got to record using them and they sounded just fantastic! Nice and warm and round, with a good punch.

You're off on a big adventure - get some beginning drum videos and start learning some basic beats, then get some good drumming headphones (ones that exclude outside noises as much as possible) and start playing along to your favorite CDs.
