Going on a field trip!
In about an hour I'm meeting someone from the Fourth Semester german Class, we're going to drive down to Madison to meet up with the bus from UW-Wuakesha and join their Gerrman Club on a trip to the Swiss Settlement in New Glarus!

1. Just got back....
It was an eventful trip. I got lost Driving in Madison, ended up in the wrong lane on Washington, was forced into an exit, somehow ended up driving into oncoming traffic, managed to get away accident, and cop free, ended up missing downtown, so I pulled into the VA Hospital and let my friend, who is much more familir with th area drive. He got us downtown OK, but by the time we made it Downtown, it took us about 15 minutes to wait for a space to open up in the State Street Parking ramp.

We made it to our rendevous point in the Ratskeller in the UW Union on time, so we had lunch there. I must say that that Ratskeller really frickin' awesome. You UW Madison DUers are so damn lucky.

We then went to New Glarus, looked around the shops, bought some tchotchkes, and then did some wine-tasting at the Primrose Winery. I bought a bottle of the Classic American Red made with Concord Grapes (what the fuck was I thinking?), we then toured the Swiss Settlement, then had supper at the Glarner Stube, home of http://www.toiletnet.com/glarnerstube.htm">Midwest's largest urinal (It's like walking up to a porcalien sarcophagus.) The four of us in our group shared a fondue for an appetizer, and I had the Wurst Salat and two Francis-something Hefeweizen (can't remember the exact name, it had a picture of a monk on the bottle. We went back to mad town, my friend got lost looking for Hwy 151, and ended up on 51 (don't ask) we made it back to 151 by taking hwy 60 east to Columbus, and hooking up with 151 there.

It was a nice adventure.
