6. Some fools came in our favorite Mexican restaurant

a full HOUR before the damned thing and demanded that the television be turned on to "Derby" coverage (there are like 50 sports bars in town they could have gone to).Totally ruined the ambiance of the meal. The announcers were irritating and they talk like auctioneers, onewordrunningintotheotherveryveryfast. Kept us from staying for a second beer.

Never understood the fascination with it, either. Nor do I get the fascination with car racing or dog racing, though I understand the gambling part of horse and dog racing. I think they should allow gambling on car races, too. Might as well.

But, all that said, I applaud and support the right of those who do enjoy those activities to enjoy them.
