Frankenstein's Monster is NOT Frankenstein!!!!!!!
Silly thing that drives me absolutely up a freaking tree number 1208: Referring to Frankenstein's Monster as Frankenstein. This is simply not accurate. It bothers the ever-loving crap out of me. I can't stand it when people do it, especially on a TV ad or in print or in some official capacity where there ought to be some type of quality control. Frankenstein is the scientist who created the monster, the monster is Frankenstein's Monster!

Thank you.

Really bugs me, too.

I was also surprised, when I finally read the book in college, how much of a disservice every Frankenstein movie had done to the book, making the monster into a whitless, no-language-having evil monstrosity.

I couldn't believe how severely the story had been consistently bastardized for the sake of "horror". Far more frightening to have a literate, intelligent monster, like the book.

Thankfully, there was that one good Frankenstein movie from the mid-90s with what's his name (not Keanu Reeves or Brad Pitt, but that other guy) and that woman (the one with the soft hair). I thought that movie was excellent!

(I am also driven insane by my constant inability to remember actor's names)

21. I don't think I saw that movie.
And I read the book when I was way too young. I have always loved Bernie Wrightson's Frankenstein however.

He got his whole office riled up over this very point back in January. But you know what it's like, when you've had enough, you just need to rant about it. This made me smile - thanks! Hope you're doing well!:hi:

36. That bugged my HS teacher!
He would preach about several things. I loved that man dearly. Mr. Byrd would always tell us that Frankenstein was the doctor. He also would remind us that everyone has a temperature....it is just a matter of how high it is! He HATED when people wrote "alot" instead of a lot. He actually said that if there was only one thing we learned in school that year, let it be to spell it "a lot"!!! I also remember something about a heart condition, but can not quite remember what he would say about that. He was so cool. He taught us poetry by studying songs by Billy Joel, Simon and Garfunkel and the like! He introduced me to the works of Kahlil Gibran. I remember him fondly. I also remember 'Dr. Frankenstein'!!!!
