Why George talks that way:
His body language and inflection (if you can call it that) in front of an audience always remind me of a grown up trying to explain something to a severely learning disabled five year old.

Now I think I know why.
It's the way people have talked to him all of his life.
It's the only way he knows.
:-(

2. Bam! Now it all makes sense!!!
A very astute observation, my fellow Alabamian...

BTW... do you think it is even remotley possible for AL to go to Kerry in November?

5. If AL goes to Kerry, he'll win 47 or 48 states!
Not impossible, 'course it's not impossible for Laeticia Casta to fall for me ...

8. Stranger things have happened, I guess.
I'm seriously trying to get a "Write-In Judge Roy Moore" movement going. That could do it.
BTW, I think there are over a dozen of us on here now. Got a list around somewhere.

3. Makes sense I guess, because his mannerisms always
inspire me to offer him a space for the developmentally disabled on the little yellow bus.

4. That's possible, though...
I always get the impression that he's just trying too damn hard.

He always looks like his brain is straining to put together coherent sentences (and failing), kind of like the synapses aren't all firing.

Though, I'd buy the "he does it because it's all he knows" argument. Some of the stories of state dinners, etc., when George Sr. was President seem to back that.

6. I have never. Thought of that. Before now.
I think you may. Be on to something. Your explanation. Makes perfect sense.

9. he always seems to be straining
straining for the next word.
straining for the correct pronunciation (and failing).
straining to maintain his Texas accent.
straining for credibility (and failing miserably).

If he weren't a bush, he'd be the most unsuccessful used car salesman in Connecticut.
