Unforgiven, Silverado, The Searchers, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, High Noon! Good stuff.

Oh, and I'm "good". I don't know who's bad or ugly, but I'm good. :7

Pale Rider is another classic!
I should note though: I pretty much only like the Clint Eastwood westerns. They have a literary depth to them that the vast majority of other westerns do not.

Tombstone qualifies because Doc Holliday totally kicks ass!

I'm looking forward to Brokeback Mountain though, if you consider that a Western. :bounce:

12. Best western ever made was...
The Valley of Gwangi

Cowboys discover a valley that contains dinosaurs and other unusually large hungry monsters. Where else can you watch cowboys being plucked off their horses by flying reptiles, and eaten in one bite by tyranosuars. Surely not in the usual run-of-the-mill westerns, that's for sure!

Runner up is Tombstone

and because most of his stuff is fantasy, some view my movie tastes as childish

18. Despite the inherent inaccuracy, cleaned language, and borderline racism..
I really do love a good Western. My favorite is "Shane" but I also love the camp of John Ford's Westerns. The Navajo who lived in Monument Valley, where Ford shot his movies, loved Ford and were often cast in his movies. In fact, many of the Indians of Ford's films are recycled from the previous movies, and if you pay close enough attention, you can actually see the same ones spread out over the pictures.

20. Once Upon a Time in the West
beats out Good Bad & the Ugly in my opinion.

not by much though.

I also really like The Wild Bunch and Johnny Guitar.

Those three tell you something about my warped taste, yes?

23. That's a great one, too...
But I've always like Eastwood better than Bronson. However, Henry Fonda is just plain evil that movie. He was great!

24. yeah Eastwood
is better than Bronson, I guess.
But West has evil Fonda, humorous Robards and drop dead gorgeous Cardinale,
That's why it gets my vote!!!

21. Lonesome Dove is the best ever
Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Danny Glover, Anjelica Huston, Diane Lane... what a story, what a cast.

As for Eastwood, I prefer "The Outlaw Josey Wales" or better yet, "Unforgiven", although I do like those Leone ones.
