I was trying to talk sense into a young Republican (about fifteen I would guess - 7 years younger than me). I basically said, how can you trust these guys when Bush has felons in his cabinet and how can you trust Fox news when they put a convicted liar like Oliver North on the air. You know what he said "he was never convicted." Anymore we have to give these idiots 2000 years of background history to convince them that Bush was wrong today. Kind of frustrating.

I agree that we aren't teaching Americabn history, particularly post-WW2. If we did, our kids might be better prepared to face the world.
