What's your favorite Broadway show tune?
I'm partial to Barbra's early stuff - "Don't Rain on My Parade" from Funny Girl.

4. Uncle Tom's Cabin
From the King and I - I loved playing it while listening to the singers. Actually, as much as I abhor musicals, King and I is chock full of exciting and good decent music, and it's actually a cool story.

I'm also kinda partial to "Poor Judd is Dead" from Oklahoma, though otherwise that musical isnt' my favorite - but I can listen to it. Unlike that abominable "Guys and Dolls" - sweet Jesus, what a POS that is. I'm so dismayed that we did that when I was in high school, and so, of course, had to listen to it night after night after night. Oddly enough, as much as Annie is annoying, we did Annie the year after "Guys and Dolls" and it was like utter relief to me. Yes, I actually found Annie to be nowhere near as annoying as "Guys and Dolls".

"Luck be a Lady Tonight" my ass. Screw you, and shut up. :-)

6. 42nd Street
Great tune by Harry Warren, a portrait of a Manhattan that doesn't exist anymore. Interesting melody and you can dance to it...

8. Anything from Oklahoma or My Fair Lady
I'm showing my age here, but when I was a kid we didn't have TV. My folks were devoted Broadway musical fans, so that's what we kids listened to instead of watching the tube. I can still sing every song from every Rogers and Hammerstein musical.
