HA! NYers are hilarious! Very liberal audience on WNYC right now
Edited on Thu May-06-04 09:17 AM by Rabrrrrrr
Brian Lehrer is doing a live show from the Brooklyn Musuem with Joe Conosan and some others on a panel.

The dialogue hasn't started yet. Lehrer is asking the audience a bunch of questions: only two people there own an SUV.

When asked if they think the media has a liberal bias, only a couple raised their hands.

When asked if they think the media reports down the middle, about ten people.

When asked if they think it's a conservative bias, it was about 40%.

But the funniest moment is when Lehrer asked them, "Did the terrorists attack the US because they hate our freedoms?" the audience LAUGHED OUT LOUD at that idea. Only the two conservative panelists raised their hands (one of them is the guy who wrote Quayle's Murphy Brown speech, and the other is Lisa Shiffren (however it's spelled)).

HA HA! And that's from the people who WERE attacked!

You can listen live: http://www.wnyc.org

Should be an interesting show on the culture wars and the large division in the US.

On all counts - we're not stupid, and the rest of the country could learn something from us. :-)

And we're friendly and courteous too.

Well, except token booth clerks that is.

4. Kickin' - this show has been GREAT so far!
Debating about Shrub's speechifying skills, or lack thereof, and a bunch of other cultural stuff especially surrounding language so far.

Anyone who can, should listen in. Wonderful!

Panelists are:

Sarah Crighton
Kella Fasenne (have no idea if that is spelled correctly)
Lisa Shiffren (conservative)
Joe Conason
John McQuarter (linguist, author of "Doing Our Own Thing, The Degradation of Language, and Why We Should, Like, Care"

And they've been taking some good questions from the audience.
