I heard tidbits online, wasn't terribly impressed. the man needs a new backing band BADLY, almost as badly as he needs a dose of INSPIRATION. remember when he wrote about the romance of poverty? the Moors murders? decadent british royalty? a proposal for the public execution of Maggie Thatcher? cannibalism? violent, power-drunk headmasters? SHYNESS?

now he just goes on talk shows and trashes his heroes for publicity. it's a damn shame. and he used to be great once, you know?


oh, and the choice of producer was misguided too.

Actually when I was in the Army a fellow soldier turned me onto Morrissey and The Cure, having been and AMERICAN alternative fan I had dismissed them offhand-except of course for "How soon is now?" which may just be the coolest song ever.
