Poll question: Poll: Does the potential exist for abuse of the new nifty Polling feature?
Edited on Wed Jul-09-03 11:23 PM by RichM
On DU2, "Poll Fever" seems to be breaking out. Every damn thought anyone has ever had can be recast as a poll. What follows is a (ahem) highly scientific attempt to carefully gauge DUers' attitudes towards the new Polling Feature.

1. One thing I've noticed about polls is that they are ANONYMOUS.
That is kind of neat, though it cuts both ways. Respondents might either be more honest, because of it; or they might be more irresponsible, because of it.

2. I'm not going to vote in the poll but since a freeper can register
never once post and vote in every poll, yes. Once they get banned their poll votes don't go to hell with them. That said, DU polls are about as useful as any other poll so ..so what?

3. this happens on most sites that activate the poll feature
on their forums. It gets overused and the administrators usually wind up disabling it.

4. they go quickly
becuz people take the poll but usually don't post a comment so they can tend to disappear quickly.
