Jean Luc Picard is my hero...is he yours? TNG discussion.
He is the truest definition of the word diplomat
He believes the truth is everyone's first duty
He understands history and tries not to repeat those same mistakes
He never fires on someone until they've fired first(and then he only goes for their weapons systems)
He tries to better himself everyday

So yes, if Patrick Stewart weren't from britain...we could vote him president and he could just act out Picard during his presidency.

It would be fabulous.

Anyhow, some of my favorite TNG episodes:

Who Watches the Watchers?
The High Ground
I, Borg
The Wounded
The Offspring
Best of Both Worlds
Chain of Command
Tapestry
All Good Things
The Enemy
The Defector

who else here is a TNG fan? And shouldn't we elect a Picard-like candidate president?

2. The original series was amusing to me
TNG made me a fan. I have long thought that in its prime it was the best written show ever.

The Inner Light is quite possibly the best single episode of any TV show I've seen.

4. ahh yes, I forgot that one...
it is one of my favorites too. I love how that whole instance isn't forgotten in episodes after it. "Lessons" in Season 6 Picard plays the flute again with a women he is dating...that also was a good episode.

And in a deleted scene from the last flick Nemesis, apparently you can see the box to the flute in one of the scenes.

Quite a lovely tune anyhow. very powerful episode.

5. I reckon Patrick Stewart would make a good Dumbledore....
I'd love to see him try that! He always has a certain mischievous paternalism about him that would be perfect for the role.

7. Have become a huge fan watching reruns....
Can't believe I missed it at the time. It is far superior to the original and Picard is a class act...

8. Here I am, I'm one.
A Picard-like president would be wonderful. Actually, maybe the head scriptwriter for TNG could be president.

9. Good Episode Choices

The only one i didn't particularly like on that list is Chain Of Command. The rest i would call great.

I am a Picard guy. No offense to Kirk, Cisco, Janeway, or the new guy, but i'm a Picard guy all the way.

my favorite episodes has to be reunification, sarek, every single one with klingon history, the borh episodes especialy q who.

I think they destroyed the whole borg thing when they made a queen.

The tng was ofcourse ALOT more superiot to the original series.. but the movies 1-6 > the next generation

i still have to say my favorite captain was kirk.

He knew how to "negotiate" best, and what he did during his lifetime picard can only dream about.
