Peter Fonda is the special guest this year, and will be appearing to host his film "The Hired Hand"...they'll also be showing other Fonda films (Easy Rider on the big screen...yee-ha!!!), and many other VERY cool flicks...if yer in the Waterville area, check out:

3. Fantastique!
That looks like one serious film festival! They didn't used to have such things in Maine when I was growing up there. They had The Movies in Portland and the Bowdoin College film series and student film awards. And Channel 10 (PBS) used to run Bergman movies and silent films. And that was it for art and international films.

6. Started 5 years ago
by the very cool folks at Railroad Square Cinema (one of the great indy theatres in Maine...now three theatres!!!). Last year was a good crowd, and I expect the same this year...

Nice to have something like this a mile from my house!!!

5. Yeah, I am THERE!!!
The Weather Underground definitely looks like a KILLER closing night movie (they tend to sneak in a good political rabble rouser movie on the last nite...two years ago, they played the Abbie Hoffman movie).

It's gonna be a lot of fun...I actually found the movie poster for "The Hired Hand" on Ebay a few weeks ago, so I'm gonna try to get it signed!

I'll definitely update the board during the week!!!

7. Not to be confused with the Maine Int'l Lobster Festival, or MILF.
I think MILF draws a LOT more in attendance.;-)

9. Yeah, my only complaint...
Is that it would have been fun to show a couple of Fonda's cooler b-movies, like "The Trip", "The Wild Angels", or "Futureworld"...(all films that are probably quite terrible, but I enjoyed for one reason or other). They will be showing "Lilith", "Easy Rider", "The Hired Hand", and "Ulee's Gold" (the last one has an unbelievable performance by Fonda by the way).

11. Proud (new) Waterville, Mainer!
My wife and I will get there if we can get a sitter. We moved here from Philadelphia 13 months ago and if we didn't have family in PA, we would never cross the New Hampshire border again!
