Lost and Found....What have you found?
I assume none of you would use a garden hose as a breathing tube, but most of us have searched for lost items in bizarre places. Post success stories.

Mine:

I lost one of my favorite earrings. For some odd reason, I kept the single earring for months. I went out to start my garden and my earring was just laying there.

A friend lost their wedding ring while rafting. He went home and got a mask to look for the ring. He found it.

1. I found a bullet I lost decades ago.
I was in the AF back in 1978, and brought a 20mm bullet as a souvenir.

Lost track of it in the early 1980's.

Just found it in a box of books a month ago.

2. A friend lost his watch
while swimming I got a mask and found a much nicer watch.
My aunt threw her wedding ring out the kitchen window during a squabble. 20 yrs. later pulling weeds she found it with a root growing right through it!

3. I found a beautiful handmade earring in Los Angeles
in a Goodwill thrift store.
It was a beautiful one of a kind silver one with a hand-set black pearl, fashioned for a left ear. I asked the lady if she had the mate. Nope. I bought it for a quarter because it was so beautiful.

Five years later while on vacation in Arizona, I found the mate! I dentical handmade silver with matching black pearl set in, made for the *right* ear! I asked the woman running the garage sale if she had the mate and she said "No, sadly I lost it while on vacation in L.A.!"

She gave it to me, saying she didn't was tired of the pair. It was a perfect match!! Right down to the jewelers' signature.

5. I lost a gold bracelet years ago.
Edited on Tue Jun-01-04 06:05 PM by Pithlet
It didn't have any sentimental value, but I didn't have much jewelry at the time and couldn't afford a replacement, so I was pretty bummed. After awhile I'd given up any hope of ever seeing it again. Three years later I ran into an old friend of mine, and after talking awhile she tells me she recently traded her car in, and found a nice gold bracelet in the backseat while cleaning it out. I ask her to describe it, and sure enough it was my bracelet.

I've since lost it again, and have moved to another state, so I think I've run out of luck.
