Your Top 10 favorite TV shows ever
Edited on Tue Jun-01-04 04:42 PM by Bombtrack
Ok the first 2 were extremely easy for me, the rest took some real consideration. An Asterix notes that I watched it for at least a couple of seasons and then stopped watching it, but I still consider what I did watch entertaining and good and memorable enough that It's included in the top 10.

1 The Simpsons
2 The Sopranos
3 The Daily Show
4 South Park
5 Mr. Show: with Bob and David
6 The West Wing*
7 Buffy the Vampire Slayer*
8 Seinfeld
9 The Family Guy
10 The X-Files*

*(Only watched W.W. from just before Bartlett was re-elected till a bit after his daughter was kidnapped, plus first and some of second season in re-runs and internet files)

*(Watched Buffy off and on from maybe the end of the 2nd second season to a bit after Angel started airing, took too much crap from guy friends for watching it)

*(Only watched X-Files first few seasons, I couldn't follow it after a while)

Honorable Mentions:

That 70's Show (Watched first few seasons, got old but still best sitcom on TV, probably the only good one)

Politically Incorrect (Watched last couple seasons when I first started getting into politics)

Conan O'Brien (Always pretty good for opening bit mostly)

Saturday Night Live (I've probably spent too much time watching this show not laughing, but they've still made me laugh alot of times)

X-Men: The Animated Series (Favorite Childhood Cartoon BY FAR)

Wonder Years (I only saw a small part of the series when I was pretty young, but it always seemed very well done and entertaining to me)

Beavis and Butthead: Probably developed my sense of humor in a somewhat bad/crude way early on in some sense, but developed it nevertheless

Dennis Miller Live: I got away with allot because I was a smart kid in my adolecense, and it was watching shows like his that made me that way.

The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air: Very good show

Salute Your Shorts: Very Personal show to my generation that people of others probably don't know about. Brings back good memories. Same with Pete and Pete and the original SNICK shows.

In no particular order except number 1 is number 1.

1. Mystery Science Theater 3000
2. WKRP in Cincinatti
3. Star Trek (original series)
4. Star Trek the Next Generation
5. Daria
6. Simpsons
7. Monty Python's Flying Circus
8. The Black Adder series starring Rowan Atkinson
9. Batman from the 1960s
10. Knight Rider (when I was younger)

My Saturday nights during my sophomore and junior years in college were spent on the lounge couch with homework, a pineapple pizza (so no one would ask for a slice), and MST3K at 8, Ren and Stimpy at 10:00, Saturday Night Live at 10:30, and then Monty Python's Flying Circus and Black Adder at midnight.

Small college town with nothing to do on Saturdays but drink which I don't. :)

13. #1 - Buffy. There is no competition.
Edited on Tue Jun-01-04 05:21 PM by Whitacre D_WI
2 - The Simpsons. I really only like seasons 3-6; but those are great enough for a #2 placement.

3 - The Adventures of Pete and Pete. Iggy Pop is the next-door neigbor. Mom has a plate in her head. Little Pete has a tattoo that is VERY important. What more can you want?

4 - Angel. It's the spinoff of Buffy -- 'nuff said.

5 - The Prisoner. Sometimes, we are ALL Number Six. Especially these days.

6 - The Family Guy. Funniest show ever.

7 - Robotech. Yeah, some of it has dated poorly in the past 20 years. But come on -- they took THE greatest Japanese cartoon (Macross) and combined it with TWO lesser Japanese cartoons (Southern Cross and Genesis Climber Mospeada) and combined them into one great fucking TV series.

8 - The Fugitive. How anybody could stand to watch that HORRIBLE FUCKING MOVIE, I can't understand. Perhaps it's because I'm from Ohio; where Dr. Sam Shepard's "bushy-haired intruder" served as the model for the "one-armed man."

9 - Three's Company. Remember that one where they had a wacky misunderstanding? That one was great!

10 - The Avengers. If you like girls, you're in love with Emma Peel. If you like boys, you're in love with John Steed. Funny and suspenseful, better than Bond.

32. No particular order, and I don't know if I can get to 10, but

1. Soap
2. Mystery! (PBS, pretty much any of them, but Rumpole and Prime Suspect are tops)
3. Homicide: Life on the Streets
4. Frasier (early stuff, first few years)

Hmm. THose are ones I'd never miss if I could help it, and the only one I still make an effort to watch is Mystery! Shows I really like include THe Sopranos, but I don't know if I'd writhe in agony if I missed it. James Gandolfini is an extremely compelling actor, though. Sex and the City now seems just like so much fluff. LIked it when it was on, but don't miss it at all. Hmm. Can't think of others, though I'm sure once I log off several good shows will flood my memory.
