Cops Accused Of Stealing Millions From Elderly Couple

Two Bluffton police officers were arrested Wednesday after allegedly bilking an elderly Hilton Head Island couple out of millions of dollars.

Lt. Benito Reyes of the Bluffton Police Department and part-time officer Lisa Cramer found themselves in handcuffs after a two-month investigation by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

Over five years, Cramer allegedly exploited the couple - both in their 90s - out of $4.5 million, said Beaufort County Sheriff P.J. Tanner.

Cramer, 34, was known as the couple's "housekeeper" but allegedly used their money to buy property, houses and cars for herself, Tanner said.

While I try to avoid the All A is B syllogism, there are lots of pious crooks. The woods are full of em. Just look in Washington, for starts!

I have been an Agnostic since the age of 15. This does not necessarily mean I am honest...but changing gears, I would not want to be a de frocked police officer in stir these days. No sympathy for them however.

What makes them think they can get away with it?
