Poll question: Your Favorite Generic Reason For Resigning
Edited on Thu Jun-03-04 11:04 AM by arwalden
... and are the "generic" nondescript reasons that are often given actually "code phrases" that mean something else entirely?

6. Why do only losers want to spend time with their family?
Seriously, I don't see people at the top of their profession drop out of their career to spend time with their family. Its only the people who have been discredited or failed who get all warm and fuzzy about family. I put that as my favorite generic excuse but its actually the one that gets on my nerves the most.

Maybe God is punishing them so they have to spend more time with family. Or maybe they would not have been a failure had they been spending more time with their family to begin with!

7. You forgot, "To pursue a career as an exotic dancer"
That's my favorite reason (not necessarily the most common).

10. I like the Joe Scarborough "to spend more time with the family"
A congressman who's always runs unopposed in the Florida panhandle, has an intern turn up dead in his office and decides to resign to spend more time with the family he's divorcing...but, instead of spending more time with the family, takes a job with MSNBC as a talk show host.
