1. I voted for the only decade...
...in which nuclear weaponry was used on human beings.

14. Two questions:
First: Not to criticize your view in this manner, but I'm curious as to whether you would have supported an amphibious assault that was the alternative to nuclear weapons (estimates for American losses were expected to be about 1 million dead, and casualties on the Japanese side would have been as high, if not higher).

Second Question: Does the type of bomb used to kill people matter in this case - i.e. would a carpet bombing have been an acceptable alternative?

16. In order of asking:
1. That's an estimate. We have no way to know if the real numbers would have approached those figures. Personally, I view it as one of those six-of-one, half-a-dozen of the other prospects. I'm not criticizing the decision. I'm lamenting the act.

2. Yes. Carpet bombing probably wouldn't have caused the subsequent birth defects and cancers, both of which occurred long after the war was over. So, yes, I dislike the bomb that keeps destroying more than one that simply goes 'boom!' and is over.

3. With regards to what? Music? Fashion? Politics? Civil Rights?
Economy? War?

So many things to base a response on. Open ended questions are good and bad. I'm just not clever enough to figure this one out.

What did you have in mind?

6. Yes, I Wanted to Vote for the Double-Naughts
with the Spanish-American War, Cuba, the Phillipines, and US imperialism spreading beyond Latin America.

Of course, there was Teddy Roosevelt initiating some basic reforms and protections -- I believe many of those laws were before 1910.

13. There Was A Lot of Fallout Going on in 1900
including the Phillipine debacle in which "30,000 killed a million" in Mark Twain's words. The situation in Cuba lingered for awhile as I recall.

"In December 1910, human consciousness changed."--Virginia Woolf

and not for the better: it has been a LOW near-century ever since.

9. Given that some 56 million people were killed in the 40's
it would seem to be an obvious choice.

10. I voted 80s.
Sure, the thirties had Hitler, Stalin, the beginnings of the Holocaust, and the groundwork for worldwide turmoil, and in the forties 56 million people died.

But the 80s had A Flock of Seagulls and Conan the Barbarian.

15. That was my problem
The 80s were by far the worst for pop culture and music and such, but the 30s (and 40s) were horrible politically. WHICH DO I VOTE ON? I guess this shall serve as my vote...
