Any Duers going on road trips this summer?
if so, where to. I am thinking about joining or instigating a road trip - maybe to washington DC, or virginia. Never been to either. I am desperate to beat it out of the Texas heat. If any DUers in Texas have a hankering to head east by auto - let me know by PM.

1. In the fall: Knoxville, TN, to see my in-laws
Okay, so it's not the summer, but I'm so excited I had to post it anyway.

2. I'm in TX, but...
I'm heading to the Grand Canyon sometime in late June or early July. I guess I can't get enough heat.

5. Well - I have never seen the grand canyon either...
but my brain is melting as it is. I do have a girl friend in Albuquerque who's been after me to visit her. I wonder what the summertime temps are there.

14. very very hot -- but dry
that, at least for me, makes it bearable. It's extremely humid in DC in the summer, so if it's humidity kicking your butt, you might want to rethink coming east.

16. I always wanted to see Virginia Beach
they have a massive sand sculpting contest, and I'd like to try my hand! Humidity is okay as long as it's under 85 degrees...

4. I already took my long trip east.
I'd like to escape Texas for a bit myself, but I'll have to fly, as I can only afford a long weekend...

I am off work right now - seems like a good time to drive. If you get up to Dallas, let me know. I live downtown - lots to do around here.

9. I'm going camping - TOMORROW
.
.
.

YUP YUP

Gone early in the morning, hit the gas station(ouch!), the beer store - and I'm gone!

First stop is the Little Jocko River, then wherever I feel like it.

For pictures, click on my eyes below, and look in any of my camping albums.

And yes

They are MY eyes

28. Cross-country to Saratoga, then Miami, before flying to Athens!
The first two are my typical summertime destinations the last few years, in a Trail Manor camper.

I'm an Olympics nut who is relentlessly saving for the Athens trip, eating $1 frozen pizzas every day and cutting back on my golf, to one round per week. Talk about sacrifice.
