Poll question: Which singer sounds great on CD, LOUSY live?
I've especially noticed this with Annie Lennox & Sade - they sound fantastic on studio tracks, but lousy live. Who's got the biggest gap between their studio singing and live singing?

I didn't put Britney Spears because she sounds lousy on studio tracks as well, IMO.

1. Amy Lee
I think you should add Amy Lee (name?) of Evanescence. One of the things that got people to buy the album was the belief that she was this powerful vocalist.

Whenever I've seen them perform live, though, she's simply atrocious. She can't stay in one key to save her life. What's worse is that she still belts each note, so she obviously thinks she's actually hitting the right note.

2. There's a reason for that.
Amy Lee and Evanescence usurped GOOD metal with the powerful female singer(Nightwish, Lacuna Coil) and made them nu-metalized with Linkin Park. Not a shred of talent in that godforsaken piece of shit band.

(I'm a little bitter.)

3. Kurt Elling
Jazz vocalist who's fantastic in person and sounds like a warped LP on CD.

4. Oops, I had this backwards....
It's early. I thought the question was the other way around -- great live, lousy on CD. Oops.
