Man - got me a Saturday Night dilema
The possible final game of the Stanley cup finals is on Saturday. I was going to go up to the cabin to watch it because I don't have cable and don't feel like sitting in a bar racking up a tab watchin' it. Plus I hate watching games in bars.

But a local town councillor came in and ivited me to his make-shift wedding reception for the same night.
Now, I could stay in town and watch the game at a bar, then hit the reception, or I could go to the cabin, watch the game and spend the rest of the night up there.

What would you do?

1. Go to the cabin
and then campaign against the councillor next election as he shows horrid judgement by doing the wedding on the same night as a Stanley Cup game IN CANADA!

4. First go to the reception
Take a flask with you. Snag some free booze, then hit the bar for the game. You won't rack up a huge tab if you sip on a beer and sneak a few shots out of your flask.

9. I gotta admit
That's one reason I'm thinking of going - that and the fact I don't know a lot of folks in town and this would be a good chance to meet some.....but a Canadian team hasn't been this close to winning the cup in 11 years!

11. Isn't the Stanley cup playoffs sort of like a national holiday....
...in Canada? Calgary has the chance to wrap it up? And this twit is going to hold a reception on that night? I am sure you won't be the only one that skips it.

18. I went to a wedding during some playoff or other some years ago and--
all the women were at the tables listening to the band and all the men were in the bar, watching the game.

13. You know there'll be a tv at the reception....
No way in hell any of his male friends or family would show up if there wasn't a chance to watch the game. Go to the party, enjoy trhe game, meet new friends and get snockered free. Then pick up a bridesmaid.

14. and then take the bridesmaid to the cabin
you can't avoid those women in summer clothes forever, Hey Hey. Well, though, bridesmaids are usually overdressed in scary outfits. :)

17. Reception...
I mean you are new in town. You work for the paper. You can never have too many contacts or too good of a relationship with these guys. Go rub some elbows with the locals and maybe you will meet a hot chick!

Then go to the cabin next weekend. Ah...the cabin. I want to come!
