15. We should plan a gathering while you're out here
That would be really fun. Let's let you pick the type of restaurant you'd like to go to and we can find a place. Surely we can get all the Seattle-area moderators together! (Me, SOteric, JulieRB, opiate69). It would be a blast!

I can't wait - this will be very fun!

22. I'm hoping to come for a visit next year,
and you Seattle DUers are first on my list!

There's a conference I want to go to, but hoping we can start a vacation after it's over. This is in May.

Definitely want a day or 2 in the San Juans, a day or 2 in Vancouver, and a day or 2 in Victoria. Or at least tea at the Empress and a tour around the inner harbor.

9. How can you leave God's Country at this time of year?
Well, if you must, I guess you could look for the ghost of Cobain, see if he is playing cards with Hendrix.

is still there. Also, I can show you the house Hendrix grew up in. There are all kinds of weird little things to see here. I'm quite fond of the Petroleum museum, myself. :D

OH NO!!!!!! I had my 30th birthday party there! I am so sad. That was always one of my favorite places to take out-of-town guests. And I'm such an afficionado of old gas stations, hell, I could have been the curator! I must find out what happened to them!

There is a new Moroccan restaurant right by there now, though, I see. I haven't walked around there since we moved in April.

Safeco's one of the best parks in the league. Naturally you'll want to go up the Space Needle. The aquarium is pretty nice. I also recommend a ferry trip out to the San Juan Islands.

14. Space Needle.
Views are incredible. Try to go in the early evening so you can watch the light change as the hour moves towards sunset.

Snoqualmie Falls -- about 1 hour east of Seattle. The drive takes you through the Cascades.

And, as previously mentioned, the Public Market is great!

24. Some Ideas
Underground Seattle is fun

Take a ferry ride over to Bainbridge Island - do it in early evening, after rush hour. Very nice.

Go to a brew pub.

I agree that you shouldn't miss the Underground Tour or the Space Needle. I would also recommend you ride a ferry to Bainbridge or Vashon Island, and also see the brand-spankin'-new Downtown library:

30. Definitely take a ferry ride
But if you go on a weekday, go before 3pm or after 7pm. It's very crowded during peak commute times. Plus, there are all sorts of unspoken rules that the commuters have and you can get some dirty looks if you sit in somebody's seat or get in people's way. (I've been a ferry commuter for several years.)

Anyway, check out Snoqualmie falls. Maybe go see the Ballard locks. All of the mentioned before like the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, and the Underground Tour are fun, too.

34. You are going to love it!
If you have time visit the Olympic Peninsula and take a hike in the Ho Rain Forest. Visit Lake Crescent the most beautiful place in the world. Take a drive to Leavenworth for some Bratwurst. It is a great drive through the Cascades. IMO better than Snoqualmie Falls but much longer--You will need an entire day. If you do do the Snoqualmie Falls thing, visit the winery's in Woodinville. They have some great concerts planned for the summer. You will have a great time in August. The weather is usually perfect.

There are some good recommendations here (and they still list the petroleum museum). I hope it's still there. :(

I also enjoy the Vintage Telecommunications museum on East Marginal Way:

Too bad the people who owned the toaster museum in Pioneer Square moved to Portland a few years ago. :(
