11. funny I was just there yesterday
If you're thinking of the old one in Malibu, no, that one has not yet reopened, but if you're thinking of the Getty Center, the new one, the castle on the hilltop, yes, that is indeed open and I was in fact there yesterday afternoon.

It's quite a place. The art's not bad, but the place itself is pretty wonderful, and the views are fantastic

15. thinking of the one overlooking the ocean and built sorta as replica of
Ceaser's father-in-laws place. I recall it being very lovely and peaceful. But parking was a problem back in the 70s; one had to call and let them know what day you wanted to come as the space was limited.

There was an unassuming terra cotta goddess figure there that haunts me still. Sure, the massive oil paintings are fabulous, but that goddess figure was just so simple and elegant...

16. that one closed when the new one opened
It was supposed to be re-opened by now, but it's not. I think not for another year or two.

The new one is rather different to say the least. Probably ten times as big for one thing. At the very least.

Unless the traffic and crowds are backing up that much.
