Reagan was one of the best republicans we've had since Lincoln. Actually, I think he's the last *good* republican we'll ever have. (good is a relative term...)

1. Maybe since Dwight Eisenhower or Teddy Roosevelt
Going back to Lincoln seems a bit of an exaggeration, don't you think?

6. I get your point, though.
People are so upset about witnessing Reagan's canonization right now (and I don't blame them) that it's hard to put him into context.

The fact that he was so popular is frustrating, but with creeps like Grant, Harding, Hoover, Nixon, Bush I, and Bush II to compare him to, Reagan gets a better grade.

3. no, Clinton is the best republican president we've had
but I guess at least reagan was good for morale. I was born the year he was elected, so all I know about are his policies... but they suck

7. Say what
I don't think Reagan was a good anything and at least Smarty Jones is a good horse. Maybe not triple crown good but did win 2 out of 3 jewels. I don't even think Reagan could run even during his good years.
