Denny's (Restaurant)
Denny's... Many of you may have been to one. But let me tell you about *ours*. All of the people who work there are missing teeth, hard-core. They're all rednecks, and most of them smoke/drink a lot.

But they are REALLY nice people. I'm not kidding. They seat groups together, no matter how big (unlike Perkins), they don't get pissed when you spill something (Olive Garden), and they don't serve you slow on purpose (Stake & Shake). They are all around GREAT hicks!

Let's just say several diners in the area around the G/L Community Center in NYC do a booming business after meetings, particularly on Sunday nights.

The Center has just about every kind of 12-step group you could imagine meeting there--and no, the meetings are restrcited to G/L/B/T folks at all--at least the ones I know about. (And for the record, I'm headed to a meeting this evening!)

2. we went to one in the city an hour away once
got really stoned beforehand (don't worry, had a sober driver). One of my buddies was still incoherent when we got to Denny's. The plan if asked about him was to say he was our mentally challenged brother who were were taking on an outing from the group home (with my sincere apologies to those who are or have family who stuffer from that)

4. great for kids
they have this little ring construction toy to keep kids occupied and the food is very good (for a chain). Grand Slam breakfast is a great deal.

That is what immediately comes to mind when Denny's is mentioned.
