What's your favorite Godzilla movie?
Mine: "Destroy All Monsters"

(did you know Godzilla gets smaller and smaller as the series goes on?)

16. A kitten then gets slimed...
then they take the party outside and jam!
My favorite part of that movie is the theme song, "Save the Earth".

On a personal note, my favorite zilla flick is Godzilla vs. King Kong.

17. A cross between Ultraman and Jack Nicholson
or so I've seen online somewhere!
Remember the leader of Seatopia (probably an American)? Long hair, sideburns, a hairy back and a tatoo? He looked like he came out of a cheap 70's porn film.

6. That must have been one of Gojira's rare Supreme Court appearances
Edited on Sun Jun-06-04 07:29 PM by jpgray
I hear that after six hours of giant monster fighting, he was only able to defeat Scalia with a dozen salvos of his fiery breath. :P

(I know the title is really that way, but hey, I'm entitled to my lame wisecracks)

It's been re-released in theaters with the pointless Raymond Burr footage removed.

15. I saw this great one, but I don't know the title
There was this extremely Speed Racer-like scene where a monkey and a kid with incredibly oversized hamburger earmuffs (that's the only way I can describe them) hide behind a bush and watch Godzilla and some other monster duke it out.

I swear, man, I wasn't stoned...

20. King Kong vs. Godzilla
Very much the best of the bunch. Kong nails the scaly wonder, thanks to being reinvigorated by lightning bolts.

21. Very recently had a LONG conversation with my 8 year old...
Who wanted to know ALL the facts about this battle.

Who won the fight?

Where did King Kong swim off to in the end?

Can King Kong swim all the way back to Africa without sleep?

Where did Godzilla go? He made another movie after this fight, right?

23. the first one first...
Godzilla is truly dark and evil, the music is great, the b&w photography is expressionistic...(I'm talking about the original Japanese release without Raymond Burr, those scenes are contrived and fake in context with the rest of the film)

Others I really like are Godzilla vs Destroyah (the death of Godzilla is very touching, the ending showing Godzilla Jr. has revived and is the new Godzilla packed quite an impact)

Also Godzilla vs. King Ghidrah and Son of Godzilla, for entirely different reasons. The first because it is action-packed with plenty of excellent scenes of Ghidrah destroying stuff, the second because it's so sentimental, and I like the musical score...Sort of like Japanese cha cha cha music...

I loved Godzilla as a kid but even then I took his movies with quite a few grains of salt...Corn tastes better with a little salt on it, dontcha think?
