How many U.S. presidents have died in your lifetime?
Edited on Sun Jun-06-04 07:57 PM by NightTrain
I was born in 1966, which makes five presidents for me:

Eisenhower (1969)
Truman (1972)
Johnson (1973)
Nixon (1994)
Reagan (2004)

At least, those are the only ones of which I'm aware!

houseplant.

Actually my theory on the houseplant is that it's been frozen for some years so that it could be thawed when needed. I expected they'd hold out to October, but I think they're getting desparate.

Maybe they'll knock off senior in October.

17. Don't Forget Hoover, Who Lived Until 1964
Pretty remarkable, really. Unlike Reagan, Hoover remained active until his death at age 90; he was working on a book at the time.

23. I'll add JFK to NightTrain's list
I was only a 1 1/2 years old, so I don't remember it. Bust still.

I didn't realize Eisenhower and Truman had lived so long. LBJ's is the first presidential death I was aware of. Same year as Watergate.

28. Nixon and Reagan
Vice Presidents:

Nixon (1994)
Agnew (1996)

First Ladies:

Jackie Kennedy (1993)
Pat Nixon (1993)

Notice how just two Presidents have died in the last eleven years? From 1963 to 1973, though, five Presidents died.
