CONFESS! When "Jerry Springer" was at the height of its popularity,
were you a fan of the show? Were you a fan and proud of it? Were you a fan and were ashamed to admit it.

I was never a fan of the show, but I would watch on occasion just to laugh my ass off over how stupid the guests were. Oh, I forgot about the "fights." Flame away.

2. No, can't watch people making total fools of themselves
on national tv. I'm embarrassed for them.

7. A friend of mine expressed the same thing:
"Why would people allow themselves to be humiliated on national TV?"

3. Yep...I did watch it now and then just for a laugh.
I felt guilty, though. Why was I laughing at people for displaying their ignorance on TV?

4. I love Springer and I'm not ashamed to admit it
Whenever someone suggests something like replacing Social Security with letting people make their own investment decisions for retirement I challenge them to watch Springer for a week and make the argument again.

6. No
It's bad enough I used to watch Oprah. I've boycotted it since the Arnie appearance. :puke: I don't miss it.

8. Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!
I do like the show. At times I do feel ashamed for being entertained by the shameful humiliation of others. But overall its good fun.

9. That was about when
I started tuning out the TV altogether. And I used to actually be a TV addict.

11. there was a short short time when it was sorta real
before the audience started chanting & before the guests were in on the joke. It was a funny freak show & Jerry kept it deadpan right down to the "final thought".

12. Only saw bits and pieces of the show
I was ashamed for the people on the show, and I was ashamed to be of the same species as the people on the show.

13. I used to watch it
solely because I couldn't believe that people like the ones featured on "Jerry Springer" actually would agree to appear on the show.

I quit watching because I was getting a bit aggressive in interactions with others. (Let's face it: Starting any sentence with the words, "Listen, ______," isn't usually a great career move.)

I still can't believe that Jerry Springer actually gets paid, (most likely quite well,) for what he does.
