It was great. They did a lot of songs from Yankee Foxtrot Hotel and their new album, also from Summerteeth. There was a lot of feedback, but it was still very festival friendly for all ages. What a great band!

2. yeah I did read about that
he seemed fine. Sounded great. We were pretty far from the stage, but the playing and feedbacking was pretty cool. I love his voice and have through a bunch of bands.

3. how did you manage it for free?
They hardly ever have concerts in my town anymore, but back in the day, if you arrived about 20 minutes after the show started, you could just walk right on in. I saw Willie Nelson for free that way. And Charlie Daniels before he went Republican.

they usually have great music since we have a really good alt radio station here in Pittsburgh!

Patti Smith is on Wednesday!

Some past bands they have had:

Don Byron
Tito Puente and Airto
Malathini and the Mahotella Queens
The Bobs
Sonic Youth and Wilco last year
Joan Armatrading last year
Phillip Glass
Ella Fitzgerald one year
Richard Thompson
Lucinda Williams

can't think of anymore offhand...

I saw her twice in the last few years here as well, but not for free. Amazing woman, amazing shows.

8. I'm also a big Rush fan, as my handle makes obvious
Rush either just recently was there, or are coming soon. Do you know?

6. Good stuff. Wilco opened up their tour at a great small
venue in Dekalb that I was really hoping to see. But, go figure, the day they come is the day I leave the country. From what I heard though, they were a couple of great shows. The Tribue today had a couple of great articles about the new album, the state of the band, and Tweedy after the rehab. (Reg required)
