J.Lo Reportedly Weds Singer Marc Anthony - how long will it last?
J.Lo Reportedly Weds Singer Marc Anthony
Jun 6, 8:38 PM EST

Jennifer Lopez reportedly married Marc Anthony in a small ceremony at her home, less than six months after she ended her high-profile engagement to Ben Affleck.

Both Us Weekly and People magazines reported Saturday's nuptials. Lopez's spokesman Rob Shuter told The Associated Press on Sunday that he had no immediate comment, and neither magazine published comment from either Shuter or a representative for Anthony.

For Lopez, 34, the marriage would mark her third — the first was to waiter Ojani Noa in 1997, the second to dancer Cris Judd in 2001.

(Sorry...just thought we needed to break up the news about Reagan with some other NEWS....Hey, I'm just psyched because now Ben Affleck our good democrat actor friend - can realize just how lucky he was to escape that disaster)....

Just kidding...thanks for humoring me on this thread...I'm just sick of all the Reagan news everywhere...

2. She is out for publicity and to make money...
She is a playa only difference is the fact she is female. She used P. Diddy, to get her back to stardom from In Living Color. She will step on whomever it takes to get attention. This is before my time but I think Elizabeth Taylor was like this, correct?? But I do admire her booty.. ;)

Edited on Mon Jun-07-04 02:59 AM by Pachamama
Oops...I brought up Reagan myself....

Yeah, I think she does play the men for the publicity and money...

And they in turn get that baby's back...yeah, she has a great booty...

5. LOL...Let's not mix fun with politics...
And don't refer to the current President by his name. There are plenty of satirical names to go around. Bunnypants being my favorite, Bonzo would also work well if you mention Ray-gun in some context.

If you don't mind please edit your post.. ;)

9. Elizabeth Taylor ONLY married for love.
She just liked to spread it around a lot. She was so famous in her own right that she overshadowed most of her husbands -- except for Richard Burton -- who was definitely her match.

6. You're all wrong - it will last a long long time.
I think J. Ho has tired of this series of silly relationships, and that's why she's turned to Anthony, who she has known for many years and trusts a great deal. I think they are a good match professionally. I see it as a sign she's grown up. She never made any sense being with Ben Affleck. He doesn't have half the spine she has.

...oh, maybe not, but wow I'd love to bed him...hee hee hee hee

J Lo ain't so smart....she couldn't hold on to Ben...who cares if he goes to strip clubs...I'd join him there and go home and have great sex...

:spank:

J Lo grown up? Hardly...

I think Physioex and God_Bush_Cheney got it right....25.....

10. I'm sure Ben would be a fun toy, but he ain't much of a man- just a boy...
Look at his pathetically mushy performance in "Armageddon" - blech!

Even a skeleton like Marc Anthony exudes more character & manliness. she made the right choice.

Benny needs somebody sweet, pretty and non-threatening, like maybe Renee Zellwegger or Charlize Theron.

14. Sweet and non-threatening? Or do you mean someone with class?
Renee Zellwegger and Charlize Theron sweet and non-threatening? Pretty, yes, but I think that one thing they both have that J Lo will never ever have is Class....its not how much money you were born with or without, or where you come from - its something very different and J Lo is so class-less its not even funny...I feel a little sad for her because I think she looks for happiness in the wrong places and with things...Marc Anthony is just her fall-guy...

Anybody who has "fallen" hard knows what that's all about...Marc is an old friend and she went to him when she lost Ben...Marc's the sweet guy that every girl knows that listens to you as you bawl your eyes out about that love lost....She doesn't have much depth...I give it less than a year....although she may have a child with him....

18. I have nothing against Charlize of Zellwegger...
But I won't join in the bashing of J Ho (I use that term affectionately :)

She puts on a big diva act, and I don't know or care ho wmuch of it is really true, and how much is to maintain an image. One thing I do sense about here is a very difinite drive and work ethic, and I don't think she is at all low class. She came from a certain cultural milieu, Puerto Rican New York, and turned out okay IMO. Having lived in Miami for years, I can say that her attitude & behavior are perfectly within the bounds of what's considered classy in the latin community there. Not everybody can (or should) be a Saint like Gloria Estefan wants to be seen as.

We don't know these people - for all we know they could all be stark raving bitches, or they could all be sweet as hell.

I choose to believe they're all decent gals, but that J Lo has got a bit more of a certain fire, and refuse to bash her for it.

She's done pretty well for a girl who started as a dancer on "In Living Color".

Marc Anthony more character and manliness? Depends what your definition is...Ben at 6'5 and well built and big hands....hmmmm....versus Marc Anthony who is very feminine and short...I'll take Ben.... :kick:

19. Character has nothing to do with hands or pecs.
It's what somebody does, as well as the look in their eye.

Ben looks so whipped. When he came on SNL a couple weeks ago, he was all bloated and fat, and looked depressed - I'll bet J Ho dropped him like a potato.

If she's the big bitch everybody makes her out to be... he's pretty pathetic to be mooning over her...

Let's face it Ben and Tom Cruise are pretty boys. Ben just rode on the fame of Matt Damon, a true actor I might add. They really aren't actors in the true sense. Sure they may look good in an underwear commercial, but when they start talking it really gets annoying...

13. Well, atleast my Pretty Boy Ben puts his money where his mouth is...
...and I don't mean the strip clubs...

He has given a lot of time and $$$ to democratic efforts...can't say that I've seen Marc Anthony or Tom Cruise doing any of that or speaking out....

I think Matt Damon is great too and I will agree to disagree on Ben being just a pretty boy...I think that he's a smart guy and not just a pretty face...

17. Mama read this and tell me who sang it...
This is the end of the innocence
O’ beautiful, for spacious skies
But now those skies are threatening
They’re beating plowshares into swords
For this tired old man that we elected king
Armchair warriors often fail
And we’ve been poisoned by these fairy tales
The lawyers clean up all details
Since daddy had to lie
But I know a place where we can go
And was away this sin
We’ll sit and watch the clouds roll by
And the tall grass wave in the wind
Just lay your head back on the ground
And let your hair spill all around me
Offer up your best defense
But this is the end

20. Yeah - he gets brownie points for being a good liberal
He still strikes me as a lightweight.

Viggo's a good lib too, and a poet, and a peacenik, and yet he can carry off Aragorn believably. Can you imagine AFFLECK as Aragorn?! LOL! Or even as Legolas?

He was good in "Changing Lanes" - only because the spoiled little yuppie he played seemed somehow similar to him.

... who just went through a quickie divorce from the mother of 2 of his children (he has a third was a former girlfriend).

J Lo's clock is ticking. She'll be 34 next month. She wants to start a family SOON with someone she's married to and Ben, two years younger and God knows how much less mature, "just wasn't ready". Marc Anthony, although only 3 years older than Ben, obviously isn't afraid of the fatherhood thing.

She tried marriage twice with men who weren't famous, and it didn't work. She dated Sean Combs (aka P Diddy aka Puff Daddy) and she got flack for doing it for publicity only, even though he got just as much publicity for DATING HER. Ultimately, she's a middle class girl from a happy family and she had the good fortune to make it big. Now she wants to have her own family. She's just been trying to find the right man to have that family with, and let me tell ya, it isn't easy, especially for a woman as successful as she is.

As for Ben's acting, actors act as well as their directors demand them to. If he has a good script and a strong director, Ben's acting is fine. If an actor is bad, it's the director's fault, and that doesn't come from me, it comes from Spike Lee.
