Poll question: How much does beauty matter to you..
Edited on Mon Jun-07-04 09:36 AM by mvd
when it comes to sexiness? I don't think that most beautiful celeb board was sexist, as we've had male boards that had the same subject. Also, I think the discussion was mature. So how much does beauty matter to you when you are determining sexiness? Somewhat to me, but not a lot. Some of the names mentioned on the most beautiful board - Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Winona Ryder, Lauren Bacall - are pretty, but not that sexy IMO. I think Charlize Theron is sexy, but she's not in my top 30, which I've posted before.

2. It matters somewhat.
But it certainly isn't everything. Once a certain threshold of appearance is met, intangible qualites make up the rest of the difference.

There are lots of ordinary women out there (who think they are too fat, or too skinny, or obsess about the little lines that are beginning to appear on their faces), that would be sexier to me than any of the celebrities mentioned on these type threads.

3. Some people are not classicly beautiful or handsome.
But some of those same people are very sexy. The biggest sexual organ in the human body is the brain.

8. Exhibit A
Nick Cave.
Not a very good looking guy. In fact, quite a not-good-looking guy.
But...ever see him live? :loveya:

I also like nerds.
Nerds generally don't match American definitions of physical beauty. Everyone I have ever dated has worn glasses -- not contacts, at least not full-time -- not something I consciously sought out, but definitely something subconscious.

12. Pure physical attractiveness
At least to you. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

15. Well, overall beauty can mean the whole package
Edited on Mon Jun-07-04 10:39 AM by mvd
But for purposes of this poll, I'm wondering how much physical attractiveness means to you.

13. Sexiness isn't about beauty
exclusively. It's more about being comfortable with who you are. It may be that the physically attractive have an easier time achieving that state of mind. But "sexy" is attainable for everyone.
