non-US DUers: How is the media portraying Reagan's death
just curious to see if they're making a big deal and treating him like a Saint or if they are reminding the public of all the crimes committed around the world by Reagan

2. Brazil doesn't give an airborne intercourse
Brief, canned obituary in the evening news and then on to more meaningful subjects, like soccer.

4. Neither

The general tone is respectful, most articles focus on the positive aspects, leaving out the worst things (while mentioning quite a few bad things).
He is credited as a fighter for the German Unification.

He was not the top story, D-Day was considered more important by almost all newspapers (and several deemed Soccer more important).

Two publications took another route: the left "Taz" commented on Reagan suddenly being treated like a saint by all major parties and most TV-stations. The other is the Onion-equivalent "Titanic"... well, I guess no translation is needed:

8. I'm an American, but I usually watch BBC World News
Reagan was just a scrolling footnote at the bottom of the screen during the D-Day coverage.

9. A German friend of mine on a mailing list ...
Made the observation that the coverage of Reagan's death he's getting (he's near Munich, a relatively conservative area according to him) has been as skewed toward revisionism as ours, there's just not as much of it. Apparently, the politicians, not necessarily the media, are doing the lionizing he's seeing.

10. Media and Politicians...
are pretty close to each other on this.

See the context: the reporters are trained in writing something positive about deceased with a questionable past.
