1. I can if I get all my hours in before Friday.
But they just offered me some more hours, so it looks like I'll just have Friday afternoon off instead of the whole day.

if Governor Goodhair's love for the Gipper outweighs his seething hatred of State employees.

4. Not for funeral -- I was taking Friday off anyway
I have the a/c guy coming (tune-up), the city inspector coming (last week's furnace installation), and then we're off to the state Dem convention in Appleton.

I've had this day scheduled for weeks -- my company's a publishing house in Wisconsin, so we're open.

Finally, the Gipper does something positive for the federal workers he loved so dearly.

I just hope Wednesday evening's DC commute isn't screwed up too badly.

That's hoping against hope, balrog. I'm leaving work 3 hours early that day. It's going to be absolutely miserable.

Depends on how far he wants to take his GOP creds.

Hey, if it happens, I'll honor RR by sleeping in -- the way he did on his job during meetings, etc.

on edit: bloody typos!

IMHO

the idea is to honor the office, not the man -- at least AFAIC. I could give two shits why Republicans are drooling over having a day off.

I hope you get the day off after all

And: Go Tribe! Except when they're playing the Halos! O8)

54. We got days off when Truman and Johnson died...
And I've just dated myself (and my length of service). But still no word yet from the statewide offices on any plans for shutting down on Friday.
= = = = = = =
The Halos have too many injuries! They've actually held things together fairly well with so many key players down (until the spanking they got from the Indians). Garrett Anderson and Tim Salmon should be back in this week, with Darin Erstad coming along soon. But now Percival is on the 15-day list!

32. They're doing this on Kamehameha Day?!
Nearly everyone has June 11 off here. Kamehameha Day is a state (but not, normally, Federal) holiday.

Compared to King Kamehameha I, first to unify all the Hawaiian islands after centuries of failed attempts, Reagan was a two-bit hustler.
