Check out The Four Preps from the early 1960s. They were super-clean-cut radical folkies. They had a hit with a song called
"26 Miles" ... and they did a lot of labor and red-diaper-baby music that never made it to the radio.

I have long considered the Wiggles to be contrary to traditional American values. I for one, will not allow my children to watch them. I fully imagine that Betty Bowers will chime in on them soon if she hasn't already.

My daughter is infatuated with them. She has always favored dark haired men, so this is right up her alley. She sings, dances, and shakes her "feathersword" (paper towel tube). There are many worse things she could be watching.

25. I took my son to see them live

actually not nearly as creepy as most kids stuff out there. Apparently 2 of them had a real band - maybe even alternative - years back. Then they met the other guys studying child behavior/teaching at college and decided to form a kids band.

Disney has probably ruined them, but they were pretty hilarious at the live show. Good sense of humor infiltrating the typical pandering to kids stuff.

and, their cd's are WAY less annoying than sesame street!
