At the age of 13, my German Short-Haired Pointer, Casey, has
passed away. She apparently had some kind of stroke this weekend, possibly missing the cat which was killed last week. They were great friends.
This morning we awoke to sounds of agony and found the dog near death. I held her a few hours, she was very comfortable as I stroked her nose and talked to her. I watched the light go out of her beautiful eyes about 8:15 this morning and went to work.
Now I have to dig another hole.

13 years, our closest friend, through thick and thin, cold and hot. I do not have one bad memory of this dog, not even in the way she died.
Kids were there, wife was there. We all got to say goodbye. I know she was happy that her pack was there with her as she went out.

I shall miss her a great deal. I shall miss both her and the cat a great deal.

The greatest act of love is helping one pass to the other side. Dont worry Sebastian Cattbutt will show him around and will share his food bowl.

6. So sorry for your loss of Casey and your cat
it sounds like you have some good memories to make you smile.

The dreaming mind recalls past impressions.
It sees again what has been seen; it hears
Again what has been heard, enjoys again
What has been enjoyed in many places.
Seen and unseen, heard and unheard, enjoyed
And unenjoyed, the real and the unreal,
The mind sees all; the mind sees all.

7. So very, very sorry about your beloved pup.
My baby is approaching 13 years and I have had her since she was 6 weeks old. She is a member of the family and dearly loved. I truly understand how you must feel. She is a grand old dog and a good old girl. The sweetest, cutest thing I have ever seen. She is dear to me. So as I look at losing her, I really understand how you must feel today. Again, so sorry, so very sorry. I am sure you shall miss Casey a great deal. She had a wonderful life with someone who loves animals as you do. Shalom.

13. I'm so sorry Scooter.
Two within a week is really really rough.

It's hard to lose one baby, let alone two. My mom's dog went suddenly last week, and it's been hard for her too.

Our Pooh cat will be there to welcome Casey. She and the Cattbutt will show him around a bit.

Sorry again.

26. Beautiful, beautiful dog ... Casey. I am so sorry dear friend.
I should have known that you are a dog-lover. That is very important, in my book. I dare say that you will more than "miss" Casey. Based on my experience when I lose a dear, dear dog-pal.

I just whistled-up Sirius and Nick-Nick. I had them sit, and hugged them both. I said "Scooter's Casey is gone. Please never die on me." Chances are, they will both break my heart.

You have had a bad couple of weeks.

The dog we had when I was a kid died at 13 also. Even though I was just 18 at the time, I still miss her.
