Female Vets Object To Statue Honoring Them - Like "Victoria's Secret" Ad
<snip>

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Some female veterans want to give a dishonorable discharge to a statue in their honor.

The 9-foot-tall statue in Albany depicts a woman wearing a clingy, flowing gown.

Instead of a female warrior, state Sen. Nancy Larraine Hoffmann said it looks like something out of a Victoria's Secret ad. Hoffmann sent a letter to Gov. George Pataki Tuesday, asking him to replace the bronze sculpture.

1. It should be a crime
For a story to compare anything to a Victoria's Secret ad and not include a picture.

5. As a female army vet
I can say unequivocally, I never looked like that. During my stint, I often work combat fatigues, and looked especially fetching after a week or so of field exercises. I suppose it could have worse...they could have modeled it on Xena or Wonderwoman. MKJ

9. And those damn flowing gowns just don't work with combat boots.
Of course they should object... to being objectified... again... and again... and again.... sheesh.
