Keep your finger out of my eye.
While I write I like to glance at the butterflies in glass that are all around the walls. The people in memory are pinned to events I can't recall too well, but I'm putting one down to watch him break up, decompose and feed another sort of life. The one in question is a fully biodegradable material and categorised as R-A-E-L. Rael hates me, I like Rael - yes, even ostriches have feelings, but our relationship is something both of us are learning to live with. Rael likes a good time, I like a good rhyme, but you won't see me directly any more - he hates my being around. So if his story doesn't stand I might lend a hand, you understand? (i.e. the rhyme is planned, dummies).

9. There has been no greater influence in Rock Music composition ...
than Lennon, Bowie and Gabriel ... In my mind ...

His weight is even greater than Springsteen, I believe ...

11. From the Lamia ...
... The fairest cries: "We all have loved you Rael" ..

Each empty snake-like body floats: Silent Sorrow in empty boats ...

A sickly sourness fills the room: The bitter harvest of a dying bloom ....

-snip-

Wow .... His poetry amazes me ...

5. Keep yer fingers outta my eye when I WRITE ! ....
DAMN I love that album ...

Broadway Melody of 1974

Echoes of the Broadway Everglades ...

With her Mythical Madonnas still walkin in their shades ...

Lenny Bruce declares a truce, and plays his other hand ...

Marshall McCluhan, casual viewin, head buried in the sand ...

Sirens on the rooftops wailin: but there's no ship sailin ...

Groucho, with his movies trailin, stands alone with his punchline failin ...

The Ku Klux Klan serve hot soul food ...

And the Band plays "In The Mood" ...

The Cheerleader waves her cyanide wand: there's the smell of peach-blossom and bitter almond ....

Caryl Chessman sniffs the air, and leads the parade ...

He knows: in a scent: you can bottle all you made ...

There's Howard Hughes in Blue Suede shoes: smilin at the Majorettes, smokin Winston cigarettes ...

And as the song and dance begins, the children play at home ...

With Needles ....

Needles and Pins ...

14. Actually that's "Fly on a Windshield"...
BMO1974 comes right after, and is instrumental only.

I am old and decrepit ... So I know these things ...

Broadway Melody of 1974

Echoes of the Broadway Everglades,
With her mythical madonnas still walking in their shades;
Lenny Bruce, declares a truce and plays his other hand.
Marshall McLuhan, casual viewin', head buried in the sand.
Sirens on the rooftops wailing, but there's no ship sailing.
Groucho, with his movies trailing, stands alone with his punchline failing.
Ku Klux Klan serve hot soul food and the band plays "In the Mood"
The cheerleader waves her cyanide wand, there's a smell of peach blossom and bitter almond.
Caryl Chessman sniffs the air and leads the parade,
He knows in a scent, you can bottle all you made.
There's Howard Hughes in blue suede shoes, smiling at the majorettes smoking Winston cigarettes.
And as the song and dance begins, the children play at home with needles; needles and pins.

Whatever it's name: It is an amazing lyric in an amazing piece ...

----------------------------

Fly on a Windshield

There's something solid forming in the air ...

And the Wall of Death is lowered in Times Square ...

No one seems to care: they carry on as if nothing was there ...

The wind is blowing harder now: blowing dust, into my eyes ...

The dust settles on my skin, making a crust I cannot move in ...

.. and I'm hoverin like a fly ....

... Waitin for the windshield on the Freeway .....

12. My fave ...
Back in NYC

-snip-

Your sitting in yer comfort ...

You dont believe Im real ...

But you cant buy protection from the way that I feel ...

Your progressive hypocrites: hand out their trash ..

But it was MINE in the first place, and Ill burn it to ash ...

Ive tasted all the strongest meats, and laid them down in colored sheets ....

Laid them down: In colored sheets ....

Who needs illusions? .. of love and affection ? ...

When yer out walkin in the streets, with your mainline connection ? ..

Connection ....

-snip-

Back in NYC has such a powerful vocal .... I still believe it to be the BEST Gabriel song ever ....
