How much do you pay for a haircut?
The place I go to charges $35 for a cut/blowdry, but I really don't think I get what I pay for.

1. Unless they are tickling your bum...
I don't think your getting 35 bucks worth.

19. Nope, no bum tickling
A couple of times I've gotten a nice cut, but the last time I went she didn't cut it as short as I wanted (what part of "chin length bob") is so hard to understand?

My husband pays $10 at the barber. Sigh.

5. Goose egg!
I cut my own hair, so I pay nothing. Granted, I do have a buzzcut.

7. $0
My friend cuts my hair for me, he is pretty good at doing one style. Me and him get pretty much the same hair cuts and since he cuts his own hair I asked him if he could do mine and he does it.

13. I used to pay that much ...
my cousin used to cut if for free when we lived in the same town. She went to school for it and used to do all the things she wanted to try out for free on me :) Perms (this was EARLY 90's), haircuts, calcium treatments, you name it. It was pretty fun ... and the prices were wonderful!!

:hi:

16. How does one cut their own hair?
You'd have to be pretty bendy to cut your own hair, I would think.

26. He uses a razor with several different attachment pieces
so you can control how much you want to cut off, he just uses a mirror to see if he is fading it in evenly. He pretty much knows how far to go on the back off hand, he'll occasionally mess up but it's not a big deal. It happens.

Imagine if you really fucked up while giving yourself a haircut and ended up with a Mr T?

I'd have to wear a paper bag over my head for weeks!

9. About 25 dollars
I feel that I sometimes get what I pay for. My hair is pretty short now so I'll probably be going somewhere else to get it done and paying more than that now. I had to stop going to the guy I used to go to because he became a "premium" stylist and started charging 59 (or more) dollars a haircut! Now, he was really good, but not that good!!

:hi:

14. Zero!
No kidding ... I order a RoboCut over a year ago and it works great.

Check out their web site: http://robocut.com/

The first couple of times I didn't do anything fancy, but now I can cut my own hair better than I ever got at a stylists.

I'm serious, check it out!

18. My ex-wife is my barber since slightly after our divorce.
It's free, but I always give her $20 (she normally charges $16).

...and yes, it was strange letting her near my throat with a straight-razor that first time...

20. The cost of 3 drops of oil and the electricity to power the clipper
I've spent $31.00 on haircuts in the last six years, plus the electricity to run the clipper, whatever that is. $30.00 for the clippers and $1 for the can of 3 in 1 Oil.

It's a Wahl brand with a one inch attachment. So my hair is cut the same length all over (I think it actually comes out shorter than one inch).

It takes about 45 minutes to run the clippers from all directions and make sure all of the hairs get clipped.

I let it grow out for about six weeks before cutting it again.

Unless a guy is really into some kind of stylish hair, I think it is ridiculous to pay for a haircut.

You do the math and figure out how much money I have saved in the last six years!

They aren't really necessary as long as you are willing to sit on your hair.

Super cuts and Cost Cutters get a bad rap for nothing. They listen and if you don't like it, they'll fix it.

But I've always been pleased... especially when it's only 13 + tip for a haircut!

32. $15 plus tip
I don't even usually get it washed there and she does pretty much no styling to my natural curls!!!

One day I want to see if a $100 plus haircut would really be worth it. But for now it's just fine.

including the tip. I've paid up to $125 in the past. I have almost hip length hair and I get it permed. It takes about 3 and a half hours to do.
