I'm Fat!
Good Lord I just took a real honest look at myself. I swim and lift weights almost every day but appparently I need to do MORE of it and drink a FEW LESS glasses of wine per week.

6'3"
230 lbs.
June 9th

Just had to write that down. And just had to vent. Thanks for listening! :wtf:

1. One of the things I like about men...
...is that they're so open about things like that. I'd die before telling an entire message board my weight, felt that was in the thin days, too.

2. Easy, easy diet that works.
My best friend was overweight...6 feet and 200+ lbs. For one year ALL he did was eat HALF of what he normally ate and is now at a healthy weight.

It doesn't hurt. Try it. (He even ate desserts..but only HALF.

14. Portion Control - That might be good (and impossible)
But suppose I should try...good suggestion.

17. sounds like a plan
I usually just graze as I go along - hard to tell what half of a "portion" is - but maybe I can formalize my gustatorial meanderings into some semblance of a half portion.

19. it'll take a week or so (maybe less)
for you to get used to less food and not feel deprived, but that kind of portion control really does work.

Whenever I've wanted to lose a little weight, that's what I do, and I've never been more than 5lbs over my "ideal" weight (which is actually about 10 lbs under the weight chart standards). Anyway, I cannot, and will not, deprive myself of wine, or chocolate, or bread, so I just eat less of it. It gets easier, really, truly it does. And you won't feel like you're in some sort of food purgatory.

Your tummy will "shrink" and will holler "I'm full!" quicker, but your tastebuds won't be upset.

You look fine to me!!

My hubby is 6'0" and 310. You aren't fat and neither is he. You are just as God/Nature/Whatever intended you. You are you and no one else.

6. I wouldn't say your fat, if you jiggle when you walk- thats fat!
I am 6'6" and weigh in at 240lbs, I don't consider myself fat.
If you really want to feel trim, go down to a Wal-mart super center this next Saturday, its a freak show in that place.

7. LOL
That was funny. I know there are people much worse off but I've historically held myself to a pretty high standard and right now I'm not meeting that standard. But I appreciate your perspective...Thanks!

8. Women like big strong men
I don't know how your built but if you are in shape then you probably look pretty good, maybe like a football player. A lot of women (and probably gay men too) are attracted to the archetype big alpha male, big enough to protect himslef and family from any physical threats as far as phyiscal power, but not so heavy that it slows him down. My husband is a big, tall guy too.
